Just A Beautiful Sunrise and Sunset Captured Last Week
Happy Superbowl Sunday Champions,
Another game with Tom Brady in it, huh? I wonder if this will be the game that signifies the passing of the torch to Patrick Mahomes or memorializes him as the GOAT? Either way it doesn't have the same feel as previous year's. Anyhow, just wanted to make sure you were up to date on all things Carlson. Before we get started, I wanted to call your attention to the button above titled, "Growing Carlson Together." Although this pandemic has presented some major obstacles and changes to how we normally function as a school, we would be honored to hear from you and gain some valuable feedback and input on how we are doing. This feedback helps us continue growing and improving Carlson and furthering our commitment to provide all of our Champions an environment where they feel cared for, valued, and safe both physically and emotionally, while simultaneously receiving rigorous academic instruction preparing them for well rounded success. I would like to personally thank you on behalf of all of our staff for taking the time to help us. We believe the stronger our partnership grows, the better outcome for our kids. And with respect to the pandemic, we are hopeful that things will slowly start improving in the months ahead and return us to some version of normalcy where we can pick up where we left off and continue the rich tradition and success of Carlson for years to come.
OK, now for a quick recap of last week. It was National School Counseling week, so we celebrated our two amazing counselors Mrs. Thelen and Ms. Erickson for all they do to support our students. Sign Up links were sent out for parent teacher conferences. If you haven't signed up yet, please do so as soon as possible. Conferences are being held virtually using Google Meet. If you are unable to access Google Meet, please reach out to your child's teacher and let them know so we can find an alternative arrangement. Just a reminder students have early dismissal at 11:30am for conferences on both Wednesday and Thursday. Then Wednesday, we were given some important information and resources on bullying during Attorney General Mark Brnovich's Anti Bullying Presentation. And on Thursday students dressed up and had their Spring Pictures taken. And finally, we wrapped up the week with 6th grade finalizing their registration for Junior High and a staff barbecue to celebrate all the hard work being done everyday. Overall, I would say it was a pretty good week and things seem to be moving right along.
For this week, all we have on the calendar is a Yearbook Club meeting Tuesday after school in room #35 and conferences on Wednesday and Thursday. With Valentine's Day being on Sunday this year, classes will be celebrating on Friday the 12th. If your child is planning on participating, please make sure that all cards are brought in by Wednesday the 10th. This allows time for them to sit before distributing them. If you have any questions please reach out to your child's teacher.
Also, just a final reminder to complete the Student Intent to Return form. They are due this Friday by 4:00pm. if you haven't done so already, please complete one for each child as soon as possible. This information is crucial to our school. Our staffing needs for next year are dependent on this information. Additionally, if you have a child starting kindergarten next year please register them immediately. Our CTA sections are filling up fast. Also, if you have any 4 year olds turning 5 between September 1st and December 31st, they are eligible for early entrance. Click on the following link for more information. If you are willing, please take a few moments to complete the form below. If you have any questions feel free to contact me or if you have any experience in this field and have any suggestions for us, we would love to hear them.
