SCHOOL INFO FOR YOU
CANNED FOOD DRIVE
What a wonderful giving school community we have. We had over 600 items of food donated for our annual food drive for the local Big Lake food pantry. Mrs. Diaz 1st grade class had the most items donated with 144 and they will receive a pizza party compliments of the Big Lake Lions and Big Lake Elementary. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
DISTRICT CALENDAR SURVEY
Big Lake families, here’s your opportunity to express your preference for school dates for the next 3 school years. We encourage staff, students and families to complete the survey by December 6th. Results of the survey will be considered by the calendar committee when they meet in December to make recommendations for a 3-year District calendar. Calendar Survey
PARADE & CAROLING
The Big Lake Elementary Choir is singing in the Big Lake Tree Lighting Ceremony and Parade on Saturday, December 2nd. The Parade starts here at the school at 6:30pm. Choir students need to meet at the portable by the bus loop in their cold weather gear by 6pm. The parade ends at the Lions Rec Center with caroling, cookies and hot cocoa and then it's open skate night, join in and skate too. We look forward to seeing you there!
The nurse is screening students for height, weight, vision, and hearing for all students in Kdg, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades starting this month. If you have any questions please call Nurse Moore at 892-9705.
All children need to be dressed appropriately for the weather while waiting at the bus stop and playing at recess. They should wear boots, snow pants, coats, gloves, and a hat. Please make sure your children have these items. Younger children have a hard time regulating their body temperature and do not always know when they are getting cold. If they do not have the appropriate gear they will not be allowed to go to recess. The school has very few items that students may borrow.
