From the Nurse
We do have cases of RSV in the building, please read the following in either English or Spanish.
If your child is experiencing any of the following symptoms, your child should be kept home:
Fever of 100.4 degrees or greater
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Skin rash
Severe congestion
Sore Throat
Red and watery eyes with crusting or
drainage
Parents are asked to notify the school of each symptom the student is experiencing so the school can
adequately monitor illness trends in the schools.
Students must be fever‐free for 24 hours with out the use of medication and/or no vomiting or diarrhea for 24 hours after symptoms have stopped.
If your child has symptoms of covid like illness, we do recommend but it is not required to test for covid. If you do a home test please complete the form on the D200 website under Covid 19 home test. I have also provided the link below

Effective Communication
In order to properly communicate student transportation changes and to help dismiss our busses on time, PLEASE call the office before 1:00 to report ANY changes to student transportation home.
Teachers are not always available to read Dojo messages during the day and Dojo messages to the classroom teachers is not an effective way to report student absences, transportation changes, or get information about after school activities, programs, fines etc...Please call the office to discuss these concerns.
When we need to make last minute transportation changes at dismissal it delays the busses from leaving, which has an impact on the dismissal of other buildings.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Indoor Recess vs. Outdoor Recess & Cold Weather Dressing for your Child
We don't announce whether we'll be in or out for recess before school for 2 reasons, one is some of our teachers take their students out for a quick movement break (about 10 minutes only due to the temps) during the day & the kids put on their gear then. The other reason is we typically wait until about 20-30 minutes before lunch to make the decision because it warms up so much from the beginning of the day (7:20am) to lunch time (10:45-12:45 depending on grade).
Students will be going outside for recess if the wind chill temperature ("feels like" temp) is 5 degrees or above. This is a change from our previous temperature of zero degrees. We look at 3 different sources to make this determination, including the National Weather Service. Please send a hat, gloves, & a winter coat on these cold, snowy days. If your child wants the option to play in the snow then they need to have boots & snow pants too). If your child wears boots to school, they should also have a pair of shoes to wear for P.E.
Indoor Recess Donations Request - Do you have any board games you’d be willing to donate to Greenwood for our students to use when we have indoor recess? If so, please drop them off in the office any school day between 7:00am-3:30pm. You’ll be helping us to make our indoor recesses more fun!
