Body Safety Presentation Information
In the last legislative session SEA 355 was passed. We have attached it for your review. This bill requires all school districts to provide instruction to all students K-12 on child abuse and child sexual abuse. Chaucie’s Place will be providing the instruction for all grade levels for Hamilton Southeastern Schools. Chaucie’s Place is a child advocacy organization in Hamilton County that focuses on the prevention of child sexual abuse and youth suicide through education.
Prior to your child participating in this program, we are offering two options for parent meetings so that our families may hear from our Chaucie’s Place instructors about the content that their child will be learning. Please see the attached flyers with details on our parent meetings. The attached flyer also includes all of the topics that will be covered with your child.
If after reviewing the flyer and/or attending the parent night, you do not want your child to participate in this experience an Opt Out form is available in our front office.
Dates for presentations at FCI have currently not been scheduled. However, as soon as a date has been determined, we will notify parents. Those sessions will be held during your child's related arts class time. Please know that your child’s guidance counselor will be present for this presentation.
Two parent meetings:
- Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at Fishers High School in Café C
- Thursday, August 30, 2018 at HSE High School in Café E

Activity dismissal
For school-wide events such as the Hang Out, Falcon Fest, all-school stay-after basketball games, the following pick-up procedures assist in safer, quicker dismissal:
- 5th grade parents to travel north on Olio Road into the front parking lot then south on Olio Road out of the parking lot. Pick-up is in FRONT of the building for 5th grade.
- 6th grade parents to travel south on Olio Road into the bus parking lot then north on Olio Road out of the parking lot. Pick-up is in the bus lot for 6th grade. This is north of the school on the side face HSE High School.
ABOVE ALL, we know your schedules are very busy as well. However, we ask that you NOT park in the parking lot and ask your child to walk across the lot. This is not safe as there are many vehicles in the lot. Please assist us in keep all of our children safe and remain in the pick up line. We will take all possible efforts to move the line quickly and safely. Thank you in advance!! :)
