From The Principal's Desk
Tēnā koutou katoa,
Huge thanks to our Librarian, Mrs Wallace, for her Book Week organisation. It was great to see all the smiles and amazing costumes, and of course a fantastic way to promote reading for pleasure. If you were not able to make it, check out the gallery below and see if you can spot me!
This week, I'd like to let you know about a few changes that take effect this term that you may need to be aware of, including key points of contact and related email addresses for aspects of school administration.
The changes will help clarify the organisation and structures in the office and support the invaluable work they do.
Executive Officer:
Christine Landers email: (christinela@titirangi.school.nz)
Areas of Responsibility:
Office Management, Finance & HR, Principal's Secretary
School Secretary:
Suzanne Morgan (Mon-Thurs) email: (secretary@titirangi.school.nz)
Areas of Responsibility:
Reception, Enrolments, Community Liaison & School Communications, Senior Leadership Team Secretary, Board of Trustees Secretary
Office Administrator/Student Services:
Sandie O'Gorman (Mon, Tues & Fri) email: (office@titirangi.school.nz)
Allison Aikman (Wed, Thurs & Fri) email: (office@titirangi.school.nz)
Areas of Responsibility:
Student Services, Absences & Attendance, Sick Bay, Trips & Activities, Office Administration, Payments & Receipts
As you can see from the summary above, Christine will be taking on a new Office Manager role alongside her Finance responsibilities from this term, with Allison and Sandie entering a job-share arrangement focused on Student Services. I'd also like to congratulate Suzanne on stepping up to her new Secretarial role.
As we transition, please be aware that enquiries may be re-directed to the appropriate member of the team, so it would be worthwhile being aware of the areas of responsibility above so that you know who to get in touch with directly. Please also note that Allison and Sandie's individual email addresses will be eventually phased out as part of the new arrangements and replaced with the shared office email address.
I am sure you will join in supporting the team as they settle in and establish new routines around the office.
I am also delighted to announce that this week also sees a very distinguished addition to our learning community. At our Wednesday Powhiri, we will formally introduce and welcome Reverend Fred Holloway, who will join us alongside some of our our newest learners, as TPS Kaumātua. Fred is held in the highest regard and brings a tremendous wealth of experience, wisdom and mana to our school. We are privileged to have his involvement as our esteemed guide in strengthening and developing our tikanga and whanaungatanga as a school. I am sure that you will join me in extending the warmest of welcomes to Fred and to all those children and families who join us this term.

TPS NETBALL RESULTS
The TPS Netball season is underway with the first grading game held Saturday 7 May for year 5 & 6 teams. the weather was fantastic warm & sunny– long may it last through the Winter! 2 Grading games each ahead next weekend.
Year 6 - Titirangi Keas v MVS Killer Whales 16-0
In their first grading game of the season, the Titirangi Keas scored a quick 9 goals in the first quarter. Backed by such comfortable advantage, the girls were given the chance to move around within the team and play in different positions for each of the remaining 3 quarters of the game. They enjoyed the challenge of this variation, which occasionally found them wearing bibs they would hardly ever have worn before. Unperturbed, they gave their best wherever they were placed, showing impressive passing skills and footwork. With four players away this week, all girls there got the chance to play a whole game. A special thanks to Mackenzie Costello (Tui) and Amalia Anderson (Kereru) for stepping in as the Kea’s were one player short you were awesome! Player of the day was Maja Kosleck for her fantastic performance in 4 different positions all across the court. The Kea went to Mackenzie Costello as best team player
Year 6 -Titirangi Tui's 3 vs Laingholm 3
A good start to the season and a big welcome to Mackenzie Mabey and Billie who both did a fantastic job for their first game. A few work on's for training on Monday but overall it was good to see the girls out there and enjoying playing with each other. POD went to Yana for her awesome defense across the court with some great intercepts. Our Tui most improved player went to Mackenzie Mabey.
Year 5 – Titirangi Kereru’s v Tiri Wildcats 5-9
The Kereru’s had a great first game of the season, against tough opposition, the Tiri Wildcats, score was 5-9. They all played hard till the end and there was some excellent interceptions and hard defence. Te Kari Mataiti got player of the day for finding space and making a difference on the court – well done Kererus!
PARENT FITNESS CLASSES THURSDAY 12th AFTER SCHOOL

If you are a parent and you are waiting around for your child doing their Kelly Sports’ program, why not engage in a little exercise yourself and fundraise for the school at the same time. Your help would be much appreciated and what an example you are setting for your children!
