Description of building:
-Location: Athens, Greece
-Was built to replace an older temple that was destroyed by the persians.
-The stone it is made of is fine marble transported from about 10 miles away from Athens.

-Peripteral, it has columns all the way around the perimeter.
-Octastyle, 8 columns on either end of the temple.
-Doric, Is a order of design for the columns in the greek empire.
Measurements:
The base of the temple is 69.5m by 30.9m (228ft by 101ft).
The columns were 1.9m (6.2 ft) in diameter and 10.4m (34ft) tall.
There was 46 outer columns and 23 inner columns.
Bonus info
-Was partially destroyed in September 26th 1687 due to a bombardment by the Venetians which ignited an Ottoman ammunition store.
-Construction on the temple began in 477 BCE at the height of the Athenian empire, and was completed in 432 BCE, although after 438 BCE it was all decoration.
