Spring Events Postponed
We will miss you this spring but hope to see you this fall!
Take care of yourselves!
Dear Casting for Hope Community,
We write to you today to let you know that, out of an abundance of caution for our participants, volunteers, patients, and staff, Casting for Hope will be postponing our Casting for Hope fly fishing competition scheduled for April 3-5 and the 5K planned for the following weekend. October 16-18 is our reschedule date for the fly fishing tournament. With new CDC guidance that gatherings of 50 or more be postponed for at least 8 weeks and gatherings of 10 or more for the next two weeks, we are doing our part to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
This is the hardest thing we have ever had to do as an organization. The funds raised through these events' registration dollars and the pledge program make the vital work we do with women and families in deep need possible. Their bills for hospital care, medications, utilities, travel to see physicians etc., will not stop. Despite losing our two spring fundraisers, our team is committed to doing everything we can to ensure that the families we serve are taken care of during this challenging time, which will, no doubt, further complicate their already difficult journeys. During these very difficult days for the most vulnerable in our communities, we urge you to be as generous as you can to community supports such as Casting for Hope and other nonprofit agencies that serve “the least of these.” But even more important than that, please be more abundantly giving of your kindness and gentleness and your love and grace than you have ever been before.
Please do take good care of yourselves and exercise abundant care to follow your local, regional, and federal guidelines for best practices to mitigate this virus. We will miss you this spring but look forward to seeing you in the fall!
