The Westmoreland Wrap Up
November 17, 2023
Gratitude
As we move toward the week of Thanksgiving, disguised turkeys and messages of what we are thankful for line our classroom windows and surround us. We hope you enjoy a small glimpse of these sweet messages, drawings and creative works of art.
I would be remiss if I did not share the gratitude I have in my heart for the opportunity to lead Westmoreland School. Our special, little school is filled with amazing students, staff and families. I am so grateful for your continued, unwavering support and collaboration to ensure your child is happy, thriving and learning.
Wishing all of our families a Happy Thanksgiving,
Christy Dell'Aglio
Goodwill Ambassadors-Thanksgiving Food Drive Collection
Following Halloween, students collected 63 POUNDS OF CANDY to donate!!! OMG! (This is about the weight of a first grader). The candy was donated to a few different places including the local Veterans Home, Eva's Kitchen and to a military base in South Carolina.
Thank you to all of our students for working hard to spread kindness and make a difference in the lives of others.
During the month of November, Goodwill Ambassadors are collecting items for our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. All of the items will be donated to the Dunleavy (Keslensky) Family who spend their Thanksgiving cooking meals at a Soup Kitchen in Harlem, New York. Each year, this drive takes place to ensure the Dunleavy Family can continue to honor their father's memory by bringing warm Thanksgiving meals to those in need.
Each grade level is collecting the following if you are interested in donating to the drive:
Kindergarten students: canned vegetables
Grade 1 students: boxed stuffing mix
Grade 2 students: cranberry sauce
Grade 3 students: boxed, instant mashed potatoes
Grade 4 students: gravy
Please know all of these Goodwill efforts and collections are completely voluntary... There will be many future opportunities to spread GoodwIll and cheer to others throughout the year that do not cost a thing.
