Hello, Parents and Guardians of the Pawsome Pumas,
I know that Spring Break is right around the corner and many of the scholars are anticipating their time away from school. With that being said, I am glad to let you know that our educators are utilizing every minute to collaborate to achieve high academic, emotional, and social growth for each of our scholars. This is important to us as this is the focus for the Eye Of The Puma, our Theory of Action.
We are excited to celebrate Jump Rope For Heart this Thursday. This year Prairie raised $11,201 to help others have healthy hearts.
Over the course of Spring Break, please encourage your son/daughter to continue to read. We want to embed the love of reading into all of our scholars, and we can not accomplish this without you. The goal of Having Everyone Read Often (H.E.R.O.) is within our grasp. Last year, Batman made an appearance. I wonder what will happen this year.
We want to thank you for all of your support as we administered the Forward Exam last week. The Forward Exam is a way for the state to measure our academic progress with other schools in the State of Wisconsin. With that being said, our scholars are more than just a test score. The collaboration among our educators and your unwavering support will continue to be the key to our success.
I know the PTA is currently making plans for the 3rd Annual Puma Palooza. We would love to have you assist in the planning. If you have any time to volunteer for the planning of the event or the day of the event, please contact Erika Kasseckert at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Just a reminder this Thursday will be an early dismissal for our scholars at 1:40 p.m., and there is no school on Friday and all next week.
Have a PAWSOME Break, and we look forward to opening our doors bright and early on April 9th.
Thank you to everyone who attended the recent PTA day at Papa Murphy’s and the PTA Fun Day Out at Skateland.
Upcoming PTA Events:
Restaurant Night: Tue. April 10th 5-8 p.m. at Culver’s on Sunset. Come join your Prairie friends at Culver's. The flavor of the day will be Caramel Fudge Cookie. Special this month – PTA will be getting 20% of all sales during that time instead of the usual 10%.
PTA Meeting: Tuesday, April 10th at 6:30 p.m. in the library. Darren Clark from the School District of Waukesha will be doing a presentation about facility improvement plans the District has and will be answering questions. And we will be taking nominations for 2018-19 officer positions. Free childcare for school aged children is provided by Red Cross certified babysitters. If you can’t attend in person, watch on Facebook Live via the Prairie PTA Facebook Live Group.
Coming up in May:
Puma Palooza: Saturday May 5th 1:00-6:00 p.m. at Prairie. Come for an afternoon of family fun, food, and a chance to win fantastic raffle and silent auction items! A $10 wristband includes most activities - Midwest Speleo Cave, trackless train, inflatables, and local dance and sports teams. Food and additional vendor activities available for purchase. Rain or shine. Public welcome!
We need lots of helping hands to make this fun event possible. The class with the greatest percentage of parents who volunteer will get the chance to silly string the Puma Claws mascot at a school assembly. Please sign up to help here: Puma Palooza Sign Up
