Brewster Weekly
Sept. 24, 2021
We are here to do good things for our students, our coworkers, and our community.
We represent qualities such as love, hope, kindness, respect, and responsibility.
Our culture mirrors those attributes. Let’s continue to make our school the best place to work and learn where everyone is inspired to be the best they can be. What we do, we do well.
Let’s keep the courage to shape a bright future for our students.

Character Strengths
While often simplified as “grit” or “self-control,” character is more than simply individual achievement or a person’s behavior. It is a broad and complex family of thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are recognized and encouraged across cultures for the values they cultivate in people and society. Character is the aggregate of who we are; it’s “what’s inside every one of us.”
Next week our school will be learning more about Open-Mindedness! Consider this question with your family.
What is something new that you would like to try or experience?
Keep an open mind and you will open lots of doors to new possibilities!!
Media Update by Mrs. O'Rourke
We are busy in the Library Media Center and each class comes to the Media Center for an hour each. Upper el. students began checking out books this week and other classes should begin next week. We are getting back into many school routines so please remind your child to bring books back on their library day. It’s a lot more fun when they can get new books each week.

Update from Ms. Zarzycki!
Healthy Selfie
Students in P.E. are learning the importance of daily physical activity. In an effort to support our “60 minutes a day, your way!” mindset, I would love it if you could email a picture of your child (or family) participating in physical activity! Pictures will be posted on our, “Healthy Selfie” board in the gym. Anything that captures daily movement is welcome - walking the family pet, biking, sports, dancing, martial arts, etc.

Membership Toolkit
Membership Toolkit is a website and app used by the Brewster PTA. On Membership Toolkit you can find a Brewster directory, calendar of events, and make secure purchases. You do not need to be a PTA member to use most of the features on Membership Toolkit. To create an account, you need to go to the website first. Once you create your account on the website, you can download the app onto your mobile device. Use this web address https://rhillsbrewsterpta.membershiptoolkit.com/ to create your account.
If you already use Membership Toolkit, you can update your student’s information using this link https://rhillsbrewsterpta.membershiptoolkit.com/membership_step1 .
Join the PTA
You can join the PTA by going to the store on the Membership Toolkit app or clicking this link Join the Brewster PTA. By joining the PTA you will have access to the Brewster directory on the Membership Toolkit website and app.
Annual Fundraiser
The Brewster PTA will be launching its first-ever Annual Fundraiser. Our hope is to pivot from ongoing fundraising activities throughout the year that support Brewster students, teachers and staff, to a one-time donation made by each family at the beginning of the year. To make a donation by October 3, 2021 use this link Annual Fundraiser or go to the store on Membership Toolkit. While there is no set amount that we are requesting, as we are sensitive to every family’s financial capacity, we hope and suggest the following amounts: $50 per family with one Brewster student or $75 per family with two or more Brewster students.
Spirit Wear
Now through September 27 shipping is free! To purchase Brewster Spirit wear use this link https://brewsterspiritwear.com/ or use the link on Membership Toolkit website.
