Mixing Colors and Spring Rainy Day projects
"Mouse Paint" and "Color Dance"
We came back after break to two days in a very short week - we decided to read some books about colors!
We read this and experimented mixing primary paint colors!
We explored with color paddles and made new colors!
Color Dance inspired us to dance around with colored scarves :)
And, we did science centers!!
We used magnifying glasses to look at rocks, pinecones, and other natural items.
We used magnet wands to check if things were magnetic - or not!
Our new building center has real PVC pipes, joints, and tubes - so fun!
Science is FUN!
We will be using these centers often, as well as our water tub for sink and float fun!
Then, this week, we started talking about spring, rain, and clouds :)
We made cloud pictures with cloud paint (one part shaving cream + one part white glue)!
We poured, floated, measured, and funneled water :)
We made duck pictures ...
... And kept playing with water :)
We planted our seedlings from our Jack and the Beanstalk lessons - they were all sprouted :)
We built, unbuilt, built some more!
And, then we built a roadway!
Innovators - creators :)
Cloud, cloud, rainbow! (Aka - duck, duck, goose)
We did scooter drawing on our bellies ...
It was nice that the clouds and rain cooperated with our theme of the week ;)
What's up next??
We continue to work on letters, counting, thematic artwork, and on having fun!! We have a new friend, Marcello, in our class! We will be looking closely at some Eric Carle books next week, as part of our latest author study. Keep working at home on coloring, letter sounds and formation, as well as getting lots of playtime in :)
DON'T FORGET - THIS WEDNESDAY - 4/13 - IS AN EARLY DISMISSAL DAY AT STOY, SO OUR CLASS WILL BE HELD FROM 11AM-12:30PM, INSTEAD OF AT THE USUAL TIME :) THANKS!
