Do you need to change how your child is going home?
Be sure to ALWAYS contact the front office when you need your child to go home a different way. This will ensure that your child makes it to the correct spot at dismissal time. Sometimes your child's teacher might be out or miss that Class Dojo message, so please call 210-882-1610.
Remember all changes in transportation should be made NO LATER than 1:45 P.M.
Notes from the Nurse
Sleep deprivation in Preschool - Kindergarten aged students can lead to reduced immune function, which can cause increased illness. During flu and COVID season it is especially important that your little Cardinal gets the recommended 10- 13 hours of sleep per day (yes, this does include naps). Sleep deprivation can also lead to mood changes, impaired learning, and daytime sleepiness.
To ensure your child gets enough sleep, develop and maintain a regular sleep schedule with routine, create a soothing environment, and set limits. Contact your child’s doctor if: your child appears to have any trouble breathing, snores, or is a noisy breather; your child has unusual nighttime awakenings or significant nighttime fears that are concerning, and/ or your child has difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep; and/or if sleep problems are affecting their behavior during the day.

Attend Today, Achieve Tomorrow!
Did you know...
Showing up on time every day is important to your child’s success and learning from PK forward. Missing 10% of school (1 or 2 days every few weeks) can make it harder to:
- Gain early reading and math skills.
- Build relationships.
- Develop good attendance habits.
- The routines your child develops will continue throughout school.
- Make the most of early grades by encouraging your child to attend every day.
Remember, when a student is absent from school, the student must bring a note signed by the parent that describes the reason for the absence.
For questions regarding your child's attendance, please contact our PEIMS Clerks:
