Love & Other Theories
By: Alexis Bass
Book Review by Viktoriya Nikolaychuk
Aubrey Housing and her best friends are starting their senior year. They came up with some theories and start following them. They hope the theories will keep them from getting hurt and experiencing high school heartbreak. Two of the theories are, "Don't expect anyone to fall in love with you because even if they do, it doesn't matter. They're just going to leave you", and "High school guys aren't capable of commitment, so don't assume there's something you can do to make them commit to you. You can't." It is all working out perfectly until 2nd semester starts and a new guy, Nathan Diggs, moves to their school. Aubrey and Nathan start hanging out a lot and Aubrey starts to slowly fall for him. She keeps thinking about the theories and has to try harder to keep following them.
Maybe some rules are meant to be broken. Aubrey has to decide to either break the rules or to keep following them. If you like to read books about love and teenagers in high school then you will enjoy reading this one. I would recommend this book to anyone from ages 14 and up.
