Weekly Message
Dear Raleigh Hills Staff,
I want to take a moment to thank each of you for your hard work this week! It has been crazy! If you want to know about it in a nutshell, consider this story: Kindergarten set a goal to post to SeeSaw at least twice a month this year. Do you think they made their goal? Just wow! On that note, I'd like to thank Jim who worked tirelessly to support Raleigh Hills through our last weeks of school. Please see his message below.
I could not be more proud of the work you're doing! Find some time to take it easy this weekend and disconnect from your screens. You deserve it!
Warm regards,
Jennifer
A Message from Jim
Dear wonderful Raleigh Hills School staff:
Sadly, I need to step back from my work as assistant principal. This isn’t because I want to, but is because of the nature of my employment; I was working as a substitute administrator. However, with the closing of schools, the district has understandably discontinued using substitutes, which means that I no longer have a job at Raleigh Hills. It more importantly also means that I no longer have the authority to act on behalf of the school or to represent myself as an assistant principal.
Raleigh Hills is a great school with a great staff, and I miss you all. A huge shout out to you for what you’re doing to quickly pivot to a new learning system and for continuing to support students. It was a privilege to work with you. Teachers: I especially enjoyed visiting your classrooms; during my time with you I managed to visit nearly classroom every day, even if it was only for a minute or two. I only wish I could have done more to help those of our students who are experiencing the greatest challenges. I also want to extend a special thank you to Jen for her support; she was wonderful to work with, and Raleigh Hills is lucky to have her as its principal.
All of this doesn’t mean that I can’t volunteer, though; I just can’t volunteer in the role of an assistant principal. So, if you have any projects that a regular community volunteer could help with, I’m willing to help. Just send me an email; I still have district email and will be checking it every day or two.
I hope to see you all again sometime. Until then, best wishes, be well, and Go Raleigh Hills!
Jim
