PCC'S June MEETING
PCC's June 20 (1-3pm) meeting will be held via Google MEET.
We had some connection and meeting length problems during our May ZOOM meeting so we'll be trying something new. All you need is a FREE Google account to access MEET. PCC member, Mike Acsbok, is also an IT Specialist and has volunteered to help any member (by phone) who needs help using Google Meet before the meeting on June 20.
More information will be forwarded to members soon on using Google Meet. Thank you in advance for trying something new with PCC during the stay at home recommendations. We look forward to seeing your smiling face in person when the virus bans are lifted this summer.
thank you volunteers!

Meeting began with pledges
Secretary’s report: Don motioned to accept as written, Dave seconded the motion, the report was accepted as written.
Treasurer’s report: Report was read. Annette motioned to accept the report as written, Mike seconded the motion, the report was accepted as written.
Executive Director Report: Gnomes Day out is postponed, property signage- sent out options and would like to meet at 9 AM this coming Monday to choose and order signs; hunting committee- need to meet and establish rules, stewardship requirements, food plots; Annette and Mike will get together and figure out a solution to our virtual meeting platform; Anyone who has ideas for the website can send them to Annette.
Director’s Report: Coffee Creek no longer has an executive director, it was eliminated by the board. Bill is going to talk with Matt Harmon about the bat project.
President’s Report: The State Division meeting is canceled, there might be one in September; Scouts- Brainbin will hopefully be worked on Memorial Day weekend, solar shed will hopefully get started again in June. Field Center- people from Dyer will come out and grade. Gary left voicemails for Novotney and Thompson that we are doing the shelters so they can tell us if we need a permit.
Bat Committee: All of the official letters went out to partners. Shirley Heinze and Gabis are both ready to move forward. We have 8 rocket boxes so far. The monitors are in and can go out as soon as possible. Annette is working on getting them sent out so that we can get everything going at the same time. Annette sent out the Bat Poll. 90 polled (scores out of 5) 4.45 are NOT afraid of bats because of their association with COVID, 4.22 want bats near their homes for pest-control, 3.63 are knowledgeable about bats (there is a need here for education), 4.57 promote protection of bats and 4.09 find them creepy no matter how beneficial they are. Bat t-shirt fundraiser: Annette can get them for $7 a piece from a local printer. There are new monitors that can pick up frog, toad, and bird calls too that we can look into getting. Don suggested putting one down by the wetlands at Frame.
Farm Committee: BatCove trails have been cut but they need to be improved. Don and Dave have started on a long-term plan for Frame.
Ed Committee: can’t plan yet for fall
State Park Pavilion: no update. Amy Lavalley is working on an update for the Post Tribune.
Read Rendezvous: Naming the shelter by barn. Use for fundraisers that have speakers, named after Charlotte and Herb.
Annette motioned to adjourn, Bill seconded the motion. The motion was approved and the meeting was adjourned.
iwla state convention canceled
Hello everyone this is Stan Jarosz Indiana Division Secretary. I am sending you all this message to inform everyone that the State Convention is cancelled until further notice. The current date of the convention would have been June 6 & 7, but it is cancelled now.
Gnomes Day Out Postponed...
PLATH COLLECTORS
When asked about their contributions to a cleaner America, this is what the kids had to say:
"It is good to help clean up litter to make the planet better for all of the plants and animals," said 8 yr old, Matt. 10 yr old Katie said, “I don’t like people who litter!" and Eric the eldest (12) added, “I don’t like seeing litter all over the place. It makes people think that people in Indiana don’t care about our planet. We clean up litter all of the time. It is a dirty job, but someone’s got to do it!”
PCC is proud of the difference our Izaak Walton families make in Indiana and across America. Thank you Plath family for your efforts!
Take Action to Protect Streams and Wetlands
Last month, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) finalized a sweeping rollback of Clean Water Act protections for streams and wetlands. This new rule threatens drinking water supplies for millions of Americans, habitat for fish and wildlife, and the $887 billion outdoor recreation economy. Fortunately, leaders in the U.S. House of Representatives have introduced a bill that would block this rule and force EPA to issue a new rule that fully considers the best available science and allows ample time for public comment.
Urge your Representatives to stand up for clean water.
