FPS BOARD OF EDUCATION SELECTS (3) SUPERINTENDENT FINALISTS
As shared with all families by email on Friday, the Franklin Public Schools Board of Education has selected (3) finalists for Superintendent. You can read more about the finalists here. During this week, each candidate will be in the district interviewing, meeting with stakeholders, and touring buildings. The FPS School Board hopes to make a final selection later this week. An announcement of the new FPS Superintendent will be made once the candidate formally accepts the position. All updates about this process continue to be added to our Superintendent Search Update page here.
FPS IS ADDING TEXT MESSAGING
Similar to how we send out emails and phone calls, FPS will soon be able to send text messages to parents. This will only be used for time sensitive situations (school is called off, an alert related to a bus incident, a building situation to keep families informed about, upcoming event details, etc). This service will be added next Tuesday, May 3rd at 4:30pm. Parents and guardians will receive a message from this service that explains steps to take should you choose to opt out. Look for more details in the district newsletter this Friday and in next Monday’s building newsletter!
Note for staff: We are still working to add staff contact information for this feature.
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
With all things related to Covid 19, it seems the past two years have included many firsts in education. Our students have experienced school and classroom closures, exclusions and changes that impact our abilities to gather socially.
Well, for the first time as principal, I can’t wait to have our students in grades 1, 3, and 5 participate in the first music concert in more than two years! The event is scheduled for Wednesday, April 27, @6:30 at the FHS Saber center. Music is such an important part of our world and it offers children so many ways to engage in learning. I hope to see all of you there!
Have a fantastic week!
Mary Shannon
Ben Franklin Principal
