Weekly school announcements are sent to students through their grade level Google Classrooms on Mondays. Parents can access the weekly student announcements on the school webpage or by clinking on this link, which is updated every Monday.

2023-2024 Course Registration Information Session
All rising 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th-grade students and parents are encouraged to participate in our registration information night. Rising 9th graders will begin in the auditorium at 6:00 pm. Rising 10th-12th graders will begin in the cafeteria.

- Student Notes are reinstated this school year for students riding home to a stop different than his/her regular stop
- Students must bring a signed note from his/her parent verifying that permission is granted
- Students must bring the notes to the AP Office upon arrival at school.
- Permission will not be granted by Transportation Office directly, nor by individual bus drivers except in emergency situations

Free LBHS Tutoring
Students are encouraged to take advantage of the free LBHS Tutoring if they need some extra help in a class. See the schedule for more details.

Connect LIVE with a certified tutor, seven days a week between 2 and 11 pm, for assistance with assignments, research and writing. You can also find practice tests, study plans, and more. Tutoring is available in English and Spanish.

Picture Dates
Club Picture Day: Friday, November 18th
Senior Retake Picture Day- November 9th from 10:30-2:30 in the auditorium.

All Formals and Casuals must be taken by Lifetouch Studios.
All poses (casual and formal) must be chosen by Friday, November 18th, and this is
the LAST day to guarantee a formal and casual senior portrait in the yearbook.
No exceptions will be made!

Yearbook Prices:
You can order a yearbook online at www.yearbooksonsale.com
Starting October 23rd, the yearbook price will be $60 without free icons.
Starting November 15th, the yearbook price will be raised to $70 for the remainder of
the school year until sold out. Make sure to order your yearbook early if you plan on
getting one.
Personalization and other items cost extra and are NOT included in the prices above.
Yearbooks are delivered in the fall of 2023 in order to include Prom and Graduation in
it. Yearbooks will be available for pick-up next summer during the Registration Dates.

Athletics
- To participate in open gyms, fields, conditioning, or to participate in practice, each athlete is required to submit a new VHSL physical form dated after 5/1/2022. Physicals must be on file with the athletic director.
- Winter Sports practices will begin on 11/7/2022.

SABER Award
Lord Botetourt started recognizing SABER Award Recipients at home athletic events this fall. SABER stands for an employee that models Sincerity, Authenticity, Benevolence, Empathy, and Responsibility to the school and the community. All recipients of this award are selected by the student-athletes and participants in the events where they are being recognized.
Jamie Lawson, the RMMS Band Director was the SABER Award: The Friday Football Employee of the week for the home game on October 7, 2022. Mr. Lawson was the first feeder school recipient of the SABER Award
The Volleyball team recognized Stanley Taylor as their SABER Award recipient at their home game against Franklin County High School on October 18. Mr. Stan is a graduate of LBHS and serves as a custodian at the school.
Tracey Driscoll, LBHS Athletic Trainer, was recognized as the SABER Award recipient at the home football game against Franklin County on Saturday, October 29. Coach Driscoll was selected by all fall athletes, including the football and volleyball programs.

School Counseling Office Announcements and Events
VWCC @ LBHS on 11-28
VWCC will be here on November 28th to help students fill out the VWCC application, placement survey, CCAP application, and make sure they have everything they need for a great start at VWCC. We can also help students start the FAFSA. Please sign up outside the Counseling Office.

AP Testing
AP TESTING: Students who are enrolled in both full-year and fall AP classes can register to take the AP exam beginning Tuesday, October 11. Students must bring $97 to register for each test they plan to take to the school counseling office. AP exams will be administered from May 1 thru May 12, 2023. Please contact Mrs. Dewease with any questions.

Important School Dates:
