Letter From The CEO:
Hi Everyone!
Our Strong Families and Community theme continues this fall. We have two sessions of Stop the Bleed, a class designed to show you how to stop bleeding from an injury while you wait for help to arrive. Our Food for Thoughts breakfast and dinner will center on emergency preparedness and disaster planning for individuals and families. And be sure to keep an eye on our Facebook and Instagram feeds, since we’ll be dropping family emergency preparedness kits mid-month. Those kits have emergency weather radios, fireproof document bags, and more supplies that you may need during an emergency situation. One per household, while supplies last.
Some of you have asked when our annual Ballot Read-Through will happen. We won’t be doing a read-through this year because the Library District is on the ballot, question 6D. If that’s an event you’d like to see return next year, please let us know.
Our new Stories and Snacks event for the kids begins this month. Kids can enjoy some after-school munchies while Miss Christy reads the book Because of Winn-Dixie by Kate DiCamillo. And story time for the pre-school crowd continues both Wednesdays and Fridays at 10:30 a.m.
If you’ve been waiting to register for our First Annual Bake-Off, don’t wait any longer! Spots are nearly full, and our judges are ready and eager to taste. For more details, come see us at the front desk.
Happy autumn,
Amie P.
Library CEO
