All David families are invited to attend this year's homecoming parade and pep rally on Wednesday, September 21st, at Market Street. The parade starts at 6:30 pm, so we ask that you please arrive by 6:10 pm. We will meet in the parking lot by Orvis. This is a walking parade that will begin at Louis Vuitton and travel fully around the square, ending at the marquis in front of the old movie theatre.

This year's them is "A Disco Ball" and we're asking David families to wear their David Elementary school shirts and add disco/bright colored accessories. Parents are encouraged to dress in their disco outfits too!

Please note that this is NOT a drop off event. All parents are REQUIRED to stay with their children.

It’s Time to Get Excited about DI at David!!!

DI Information Night will be held Thursday, September 29th at 5:30pm at David Elementary.

Destination Imagination (DI) is an amazing and fun program that promotes creativity, problem-solving, team-building, project planning, and much more!

DI at David Elementary is open to 2nd-4th graders. David Elementary and CISD cover all team membership and tournament registration fees. Additionally, David provides classroom space for a limited number of teams to meet on-campus on Thursday afternoons. DI requires a firm commitment and parent volunteer support.

To participate in DI, you commit to BLOCK the day of Saturday, February 18, 2023 for the Regional DI Tournament (held at TWHS) and your child commits to attend and actively participate in weekly DI team meeting.

Also, DI at David can’t happen without parent volunteers! The number of teams is solely dependent on the number of parent volunteers for Team Manager. Please complete the Student sign-ups and Volunteer Form at: https://tinyurl.com/mr2ea44v

On Friday, October 28th, students will dress as a character that they admire from a children's book. Start encouraging your child to choose a book, read it, and start working on an appropriate costume. Students will wear their costume and carry the book for the storybook parade. Please do not wear scary costumes, masks, or bring play weapons.

We would like to welcome our parents to view the Storybook Character Parade outside, between 8:30 am - 8:45 am (start time begins as soon as all students are in place). Parents will line up outside and all students and teachers will parade around the route for you to view and take pictures.


During the week of October 24th - 28th, we will join with school across the nation to celebrate "Red Ribbon Week". There will be a theme each day and we encourage students and staff to dress for the theme to help teach the message of making good choices to be drug free. Please see the attachment below for the daily themes.

Listed below are two separate links for parents to sign up to have lunch with their children. The first link is for September 12th through September 23rd, and the second link is for September 26th through October 6th.

We are only allowing one parent, per child for each two week period. Due to limited space, we will only be able to allow one parent per day, per student, for a total of 8 per grade level.

Just a few reminders:

  • One parent, per child during each sign up period
  • Parents, please bring your own lunch -- Your child can still purchase from the cafeteria
  • You may bring an outside lunch for your child, but just remind him/her not to order from the cafeteria
  • Bring your driver's license for check-in
  • Please check out at the front desk when you leave

Beginning Friday, September 23rd, our cafeteria will begin offering snacks for purchase on Fridays. Offerings may include kettle corn popcorn, brownies, Rice Krispie Treats, slushes, chips, Cry Babies, cookies, and/or Fruit Roll-Ups. Prices vary and range from $0.50 to $1.50 per item.

State-wide, the flu season is off to strong start this year. An annual flu shot is recommended for most persons over 6 months of age. Talk with your health care provider about what is best for you and your family.



We are asking EVERY 4th grade student to purchase a grade level shirt. Students will be wearing them for all field trips, the 4th grade class picture, and for other activities throughout the year. Shirts are $15 plus tax, and can be purchased on the Membership Toolkit website now through September 26th. S.E.A. - Our fall fundraiser, SPLASH'S EPIC ADVENTURE, is underway! Packets came home in your child's planner last week. Mark your calendar for two important dates: Fundraising Packets are due on Tuesday, October 4th, and S.E.A. Day will be held on Thursday, October 6th, when students will participate in a variety of exciting, hands-on learning activities. The College Park Cheerleaders will be hosting a Fall Cheer Clinic on Saturday, October 15th, from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm at College Park High School. The clinic is open to students in Kindergarten through 6th grade. Please see the flyer below for more information.
