The Endangered Animals Of African Wildlife

Poaching In Africa

In 2012, 35,000 elephants and 668 rhinos were killed by poachers in South Africa alone. Elephant ivory sell for $1,000 a pound and rhino horn sells for 30,000 a pound. This problem isn't just in one area, it's everywhere. Rhinos are in the top 5 most endangered species in the world, due to poaching. If we just had people protecting them like rangers or get alternative materials we could save many species of animals.

African Wildlife Foundation

The African Wildlife Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the wildlife. There goal is to help the wildlife, land, and people to survive and prosper. A lot of Africa's animals are endangered due to poaching. The AWF was founded in 1961 by Russell Train, Nick Arundel, and James Bugg in Nairobi, Kenya. They recognize what is vital land and help sustain the wildlife and people there.
