Sweden was not a founding member of the European union. They joined the union in 1995.

Sweden History

Sweden long successful economic formula of a capalist system intermixed with substantial welfare elements was challenged in the 1990s. But by high unemployment and in 2000-02 and 2009 by the global economic downturns. There were United kingdoms of Sweden and Norway in 1814-1905.

Sweden Geography

Sweden is a north European country on the scandavian peninsula. Norway is to the west and Finland is to the southeast. Also, the Baltic sea is to the east and the gulf of bothina to the south.

Vasa museum (tourism)

The vasa museum displays the 17th century ship that crashed, the 64 gun warship, and much more. The vasa museum is located on the island of djurgården.

Sweden's Geography

Much of Sweden is heavily forested, with 69% 2 of the country being forest and woodland, while farmland constitutes only 8% of land use. Southern Sweden is predominantly agricultural, with increasing forest coverage northward. Mountains and hills are dominant in the west. About 15% of Sweden lies north of the Arctic Circle.

Government type

Sweden has a constitutional monarchy. This means a monarch is legally restricted within the boundaries of a constitution


Sweden currency is called the Krona. It's been there currency science 1873. Before they had krona they had the bimetic standard. In this they used copper coins as money. Sweden never had a EURO.


-Sweden has the largest population of the Nordic countries. The Nordic countries consist of 5 countries and they are Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Norway, and Sweden

-Sweden hasn't participated in a war in nearly two centuries.

-Sweden's most popular religion is Lutheran. 87% of this nation is Lutheran.
