Our Mission Statements
We are a Catholic community committed to developing educational opportunities int he context of Gospel values, where students' gifts and talents are celebrated and nurtured through lifelong spiritual and personal experiences.
Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic School
Our Lady of Perpetual Help school is committed to quality education in both official languages fostering in our students respect for life and learning as Christ taught us.
Principal Message
The end of October marks the time we call Halloween. Our students tend to have an afternoon where they dress in costumes and have a lot of fun. In light of world events in the last few years we find that the concept of war and terrorism is much more predominant than it was in the past.
As parents, you may soon be purchasing or creating costumes for this event; however, as a school, we would ask that the children do not come in costumes that represent violence or war and also ask that they do not bring props that represent weapons of any sort.
God Bless,
M. Morin

A Reading From The Gospel for Sunday, October 6, 2019
The apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith!" The Lord replied, "if you had faith the size of a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, "Be uprooted and planted int he sea," and it would obey you.
Who among you would say to your slave who has just come in from plowing or tending sheep in the field, "Come here at once and take your place at the table"? Would you not rather say to him, "Prepare supper for me, put on your apron and serve me while I eat and drink; later you may eat and drink"?
Do you thank the slave for doing what was commanded? So you also, when you have done all that you were ordered to do, say, "We are worthless slaves; we have done only what we ought to have done!"
The Gospel of the Lord.

Lunch Hour Changes!
In order to allow more space on fields and to proactively prevent negative student altercations, we are going to try a new system.
For grade 7 & 8, nothing changes. The students will eat first and then go outside for recess.
However, for the students in grades 5 & 6, the lunch schedule will be flipped. The students will immediately go go outside to play at 12:04 p.m. and come inside to eat their lunch at 12:25 p.m.
Hopefully this will lead a more pleasant outdoor experience for all.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact M. Morin at alyrem@eics.ab.ca

In collaboration with Coats for Kids and Families, we will be a drop off location for any new or used winter wear (Coats, toques, mitts, etc.) from now until November 1, 2019. These winter items will be dry cleaned thanks to Page the Cleaner and distributed throughout our communities.

École OLPH ~ Nut Aware School
Dear Parents,
With the increase of students with serious allergies in our school, we are attempting to create a “Nut-Aware” environment.
We request that you refrain from sending peanut-butter sandwiches, cookies & treats that contain nuts and any nut-based snacks.
Every child’s health & safety are important to us and we appreciate your active concern and response to this request.

BusPlanner Delays App
Do you ever wonder if your child's bus is cancelled due to cold weather or mechanical difficulties? Well, wonder no more!!!
If your child is taking a bus with EICS instructions are attached on how to set up BusPlanner.
BusPlanner will be used to communicate with parents when the transportation department needs to send out messages.
Cancelled or delayed busing notifications will be sent out through BusPlanner, we will not be using Synervoice in the future.
You can set up BusPlanner to receive messages by email or text or landline.
Please set up the BusPlanner through the web first, as this will give you the route number that is required for the BusPlanner App.
You can locate your child's 9 digit Alberta Student Number on powerschool.
Thank you!

End of Day Procedures
Please make sure that you child(ren) know if they are to take the bus or if they are getting picked up at the end of the day.
Should a student need to confirm their end of day plans, we ask that all students make their arrangements during the morning recess (10:19 a.m. - 10:34 a.m.) or during the lunch hour (12:04 p.m. - 12:47 p.m.).
This will reduce the confusion and rush at the end of the day and will also ensure that your child(ren) does not miss the bus.
If a student comes to the office at the end of the day and are unsure how they are getting home, we will be sending them home on the bus.
