Message from our garden teacher Ms. Annie

Wow the garden is green and growing! The handful of rainy days we have had helped our garden launch to life. Greens, radishes, cilantro, mint, and peas are abundant. Hummingbirds zoom around the pineapple sage and perennial flowers. Students in online garden classes have been seeing virtual tours of the garden this week. If your student is not currently in online garden class you can still find all garden videos on Youtube here: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcz6a5JnJUb5ErJNkFUs2mw

SEED has been selected as an equity champion cohort school. Our staff will attend Courageous Conversations training this spring

SEED staff have an opportunity, funded by Salesforce, to continue to engage in equity learning, as one of six schools in OUSD- six principals and their teams will begin the team training portion of our Equity Champions Cohort, with a specific focus on improving outcomes for African American students.

The purpose of the team is to deepen our understanding of race and equity, and build our collective will, skill, knowledge, and capacity, in our respective roles as educators, parents, or community partners to interrupt deficit-based language and thinking, and lead with empowering narratives, and culturally responsive, asset based practices. SEED staff will attend training March 25th and 26th, 2021!
