WMS Weekly Bulletin
January 14-20, 2019
The bulletin is a little late today because I somehow managed to talk my kids into doing a decluttering of our garage, kitchen, and living room this weekend. The kitchen and living room weren't so bad because we have guests over frequently and I'm pretty particular about keeping it tidy. But, after watching Tidying Up on Netflix where Marie Kondo, the famous declutter queen, shares her method for getting rid of the old and organizing what you keep, I was able to talk them into the chore.
We watched an episode together so they could get the gist of it, and we set to work. In the episode, the mom told Marie that she was excited to for Marie to "work her magic" on the space. Marie very quickly told her that it was NOT Marie's magic that tidied up the home. It was the effort and work put into the structure and process of Marie's methods done by someone who is willing to take ownership of them that makes the "magic."
Mishler, how in the world does this relate to WMS?
I mentioned to someone not too long ago that we've got some magic going on at Wellborn. Sure, there are some hard days and some things we are still working out as a new school (compared to schools we all came from previously that had been established for several years), but there's definitely magic in the air. The comment made back to me was that magic is simply called "hard work." It has been everyone putting in 100% and leaving nothing behind that has gotten us to this point with greatness in tow.
As we begin week 2 of the spring semester, I know that it is going to take hard work every day of this semester to end as strong as we started. It will be hard to maintain patience (confession: I had to catch myself already at the end of last week), BUT, it is in the hard work that we ALL put in TOGETHER that makes our school have that magic quality that can't be created outside of each of us pulling our weight. Know that I'm busting my tail to make the magic happen. Are you in?
Go Warhawks! And, remember, you belong here.
