HW:
The kids completed the writing prompt today. The reading passage was about the big earthquakes of 1811-1812 in SE Missouri.
Ask your child to tell you all about Mrs. Taggart's visit Monday in Science! Mrs. Taggart, the 6th grade counselor, gave each child a 7th grade enrollment form and packet about class choices. Students are expected to complete forms with parents/guardians. Flames enrollment forms will be due on Tuesday, Feburary 18th during Science. Feel free to contact Mrs. Taggart with any questions regarding enrollment. (ctaggart@nkcschools.org)
Keynote Earth project lessons/presentations will begin next week! It is going to be awesome to see all kids as teachers, teaching their 'students' and sharing their tech presentations and visual skills. Kids sharing their own brilliance and unique energy, talents, interests.
English Language Arts (ELA)
1. Read for 20 minutes
2. Research information on your invention
(Students are researching Chinese inventions and are going to present them to me similar to how they do it on the show Shark Tank. Students are required to do research on their invention. They are also required to complete a poster with a claim regarding how their invention has impacted society today. They have also been asked to think “outside the box” when presenting their inventions. For example: If their invention is a kite, they may make a kite. If their invention is acupuncture, they may explain/show how acupuncture is done on a doll or playdoh. This is an opportunity for them to be creative.)
