A Gas Station, were everybody goes to get gas. Gasoline is just like any other consumer product, But there are many factors that lead up to how much gas is priced from stations all around you. These days people are spending too much of there money on gas. Yes there is cheaper ways of getting around town like the bus or getting a ride from someone else. Millions of other people including cannot rely on different transportation other than my own when you have many responsibilities like work and school. Especially when you move from place to place everyday.
Gas prices are different from station to station all over the country. There are four major factors that make up what the prices are. These factors are taxes, distribution and marketing, refining, and crude oil. Additionally, competition between gas stations can be why difference between gas prices. Also, distance between oil refineries also can be an affect.
Paul, a neighborhood of mine, that is very active with politics had to say, "In my opinion gas prices go down because the cost of the oil isn't rising. Gas is certainly an example of supply and demand. However the supply is in case part controlled by the third world countries, that at times actually limit the supply to see a bump in barrel prices. In my opinion we could control our own gas price domestically if we more drilling here in the U.S."
In my truck, I have a 4.0 v6. I get around 16 miles to the gallon at the most. I spend around 100 to more a week on gas. I only make around 400 every check. So a month, i make a little over 800 when Im in school and only able to work in the afternoons. It is hard to live off that when your spending half of it a month on gas, and have to pay for other bills that i need. If gas was cheaper, it would make it a lot easier on me to be able to live on my own when i move out, and be able to take care of myself. But with gas prices these days, it almost makes it impossible. People that make minimum wage and have families to take care of are also the people we have to look at when it comes to gas prices.
Brandon Warner, pool manager of thatcher said," My stance on the whole gas price thing is that it should be on a honest system. They recent ally just put in place a new tax system on gas. It goes up and down each month based on projected supple and demand. They raise prices in general in suspicion of a shortage or even if there is a scaling dispute in a foreign country we buy off of. Also we need to do our past and be responsible with gas usage."
My moms Toyota 4 runner has a 4.6 v8 engine in it. It gets around 20 miles to the gallon. My mom drives over 50 miles a day to work and back and to other places. This means she does spend a lot of money on gas a week. She spends a little over 150 dollars weekly on gas. The price of gas money these days is an arm and a leg. Especially if they have other bills and priorities they need have to pay for.
Vincent Ash, park manager of Indy Parks had to say, "Since oil is in high demand and is a limited resource in future years, I understand why prices are considered high. To help out consumers, it would help for the federal government to lower the tax imposed per gallon of gasoline. Plus finding alternate methods of energy for cars to run, would create a competition on gas prices, and lower the demand of gas. Lowering the demand competition, will also help lower gas prices overall."
After a half tank of gas in the morning, going to school, going to vocational school, going to work, and then back home almost put me on empty of gasoline in my truck. This shows that i use a half tank of gas daily during the week.
After putting 30 dollars of gasoline in my truck, it will only put me at almost a half tank of gas, usually daily i go through almost a half tank of gas daily or every two days. I spend almost 30 dollars daily during the week to get me to the places i need to be like work and school. Yes, I could get a vehicle with a smaller engine that uses less gas, but still the way gas prices have been going up i would still spend pretty much the same amount of money daily on gas. Plus, it is hard saving money when you have to spend this amount of money daily on gas, not including the other things I have to pay for that i need. The taxes on gas should go down, and the federal government should find another thing to put higher taxes on that people really don't need. Also we should find alternate was of fueling vehicles, so that the demand of gas will will down. Then after that gas prices will will fall down dramatically, and people with gas powered vehicles, like most, will not have to spend so much money on gas.
A good efficient app that everybody should keep on there android phone or iPhone is called GasBuddy. This app shows you every gas station around you and their gas prices. This will help you the best gas station around you to go to that has the cheapest gas.
