Administrative
Custodial Items - We would like to recognize our custodial and maintenance staff for their outstanding efforts in maintaining our beautiful facilities. Please take the time to thank them for their efforts. When hanging materials on painted smooth drywall or waxed surfaces please utilize painter's tape (available upon request).
*Don't forget to save this folder to your Google Drive favorites!
Student Behavior Referral Forms (BIRs) - When there are serious behavior problems with a student, please inform the office about the incident. Please complete the Behavior Incident Referral form (electronic) and label it in accordance with the faculty handbook. Forms may be found in the Google Drive → Shared With Me → Faculty Information → DAIS SWEBS → DAIS SWEBS BIR Template.
Internal Room Reservations/Calendar Items - To add items to the DAIS school calendar and/or reserve rooms for special events, please email Theresa Lewis at theresa.lewis@dallastown.net. All room reservations should be submitted via email to Theresa Lewis.
*Please Note: Emailing your request is to secure the calendar date & room reservation only. The email does not replace the need to complete Field Trip Request Forms, Bus & Catering Forms, and HelpDesk Tickets for IT.
Laminating - Lamination will be completed on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month, or based on need. Items to be laminated should be clearly marked with your name and community, and placed on the "Lamination Station" cart in the red office.
Email Confidentiality Notice - As a reminder, all staff should use the confidentiality statement at the end of their emails on all devices.
Phone Voicemail - Reminder to make sure your phone voicemail (internal and external) are set up appropriately.
Technology
COPPA - Online tools that require unique student account information require parental consent prior to collecting personal information for students under the age of 13. This year parents will need to sign and return the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) agreement along with their student handbook acknowledgement. All web-based resources that fall under this act must be listed on our site (www.dallastown.net, “parent” tab, “web-based resources”) in order to be used in the classroom. Please cross reference this list prior to utilizing any site that would require unique student information. If you would like to add any sites throughout the school year please email Eric.Hartman@dallastown.net.
Technology HelpDesk Update - In an effort to streamline our Technology HelpDesk ticketing system, Dallastown IT has adopted GoFMX which can be accessed here: https://dallastown.gofmx.com. This is the same ticketing system shared with our Buildings & Grounds Department to submit work orders and maintenance requests. GoFMX logins have been created for all DASD staff and your accounts are ready for use. Users with existing GoFMX accounts will continue to access their GoFMX account with the same username and password.
Alternatively, you may continue to email HelpDesk@dallastown.net and a FMX technology ticket will automatically be generated for you. These change will take effect Monday July 22, 2019 with access to the previous Helpdesk system ending July 31, 2019. Should you have any questions regarding submitting IT helpdesk tickets please do not hesitate to contact IT.
Student Google Accounts - As part of the rollover process this summer, our students’ Google accounts have been transitioned to using their student ID# for login. They will no longer be able to login with LastFirstMI@dallastownsd.net. The new login will be student#@dallastownsd.net (ex. 100011@dallastownsd.net).
- Our students currently using their Chromebooks at home will continue to login normally, they will notice a different username when they open Gsuite applications like Google Drive or Docs
- Third party accounts connected through Google will need to be reconnected/created
When students return next week, our buildings and classrooms please attend to the following with students:
- Existing credentials entered into the Chromebook will continue to work until prompted for a username (Deltas)
- When students need to login with their G-Suite username, they will now need to use the new credentials
Parent Orientation/PTO
Open House - A School Messenger will be sent to remind parents of these Open House times. Topics include: curriculum, schedules, team expectations, SWEBS rewards, homework policy, communication, assessment and grading procedures, Chromebooks, and the major topics or themes to be studied in your grade. This would also be a convenient time to ask parents to verify their email addresses housed in eSchool for School Messenger communications. Please report any email contact adjustments to the community secretaries for revision in eSchool.
