Important information regarding the School Year:
Covid Remote Instruction Reminders:
Remote Instruction for Quarantine:
Remote instruction is only for those students who the school nurse excludes from school and the Principal approves. Examples are for positive covid cases, covid like symptoms, after travel quarantine, and/or has to be covid tested per the school nurse. If your child’s covid test is negative they may not be eligible for remote learning.
Be Patient for Remote Instruction Links:
As soon as we have to exclude a student for Covid or Covid like symptoms and they are eligible for remote instruction, we have to give the classroom teachers and special area teachers time to get set up with technology and prepare for the synchronous instruction. Remote learning will be available up to 12-24 hours after we have approved the remote instruction for your child. If your child is eligible to be in school, remote instruction will not be an option.
Substitute Teachers During Remote Instruction:
Remote instruction will not be available when the normal classroom teacher or special area teacher is absent from school. Substitute teachers will not be required to navigate the remote instruction. Those students on remote instruction will receive independent assignments to complete from their classroom teacher in Google Classrooms when their teacher is absent.
Daily Covid-19 Protocols
All parents must complete the COVID-19 Daily Screening for Students before the beginning of each school day. This must be done by 8:30 am or students may not be able to attend school on that day.
Students will be sent home from school if symptoms develop.
If your student has allergies to pollen, food, ect., please make sure that is documented with a DR. note and given to the school nurse.
Important News from the Nurse:
Nurse and Covid Updates:
Absences: When you are calling the school to report your student absent, please include the reason for the absence (covid like symptoms, vacation, stomach ache, etc.) Otherwise, you will be receiving a phone call or email to confirm the reason for absence.
Also, according to a recent CDC update, for a student who has Covid like symptoms, a negative covid will be required to return to school.
Classroom treats:
At any time, classroom treats for birthdays or special events, must be pre approved by the principal and classroom teacher. NO homemade treats will be allowed. We suggest all treats be individually prepackaged. The students will be given these treats at the end of the day to be eaten at home.
Updated Quarantine Guidelines
test positive for COVID-19 infection
have symptoms of COVID-19 (including those waiting for test results or who haven’t been tested)
are exposed close contacts age 12 or older who completed the primary series of a recommended COVID-19 vaccine, but have not received a recommended booster shot when eligible or who are not fully vaccinated.
They must wear a well-fitted mask at home and in public through day 10. Symptomatic individuals must remain isolated for the 10 day period.
