Creating a New Course

Setting up a new course AFTER the school started

Category Groups

The new school year has begun and your campus needs to create new courses. The Gradebook Category Group must be selected in order for teachers to enter grades for the course.


For Kindergarten Class, a Gradebook and Skillbook Category Group must be selected.

Editing the New Course AFTER creation

*For Kindergarten Courses move to the next section


  1. Go to Course Section

  2. Search for the correct course number teacher

  3. Click on the correct course

  4. Click Edit

  5. Under the Section Tab, find Gradebook Category Group

  6. Select the correct school type from the drop down selection, i.e. High School, Junior School, Elementary

  7. Click Save

  8. Click Return to Search Results, if there are more courses, from the search, that need to be updated. OR Click Return to Search to find a new course to update.

Extra Step for Kindergarten Course

  1. Go to Course Section

  2. Search for the correct course number teacher

  3. Click on the correct course

  4. Click Edit

  5. Under the Section Tab, find Gradebook Category Group

  6. Select the correct school type from the drop down selection, i.e. Elementary

  7. Find Skillbook Category

  8. Select KG 'Subject' 1 for the appropriate course. i.e. For a Kidner Math course, select KG Math 1

  9. Click Save

  10. Click Return to Search Results, if there are more courses, from the search, that need to be updated. OR Click Return to Search to find a new course to update.
