Safety Reminder:
Dear Litchfield Elementary School Families,
Litchfield Elementary is known as an open and friendly campus where parents are always welcome. We truly value you and want you to feel welcome when you come to eat breakfast, lunch or volunteer in your child’s classroom.
However, due to recent tragedies in schools around the nation along with some incidents that have occurred in cities nearby, Litchfield Elementary is a closed campus. With this policy we can more easily identify adults on our campus and their reasons for being here. Having a closed campus increases the safety and security of your child by minimizing the amount of people on campus.
To keep all children safe, only students are allowed beyond the gates before school, during school or after school. This means no one is allowed to stand in line or wait in front of the classrooms prior to school or be on the playground area before, during, or after school.
Visitors may sign in and eat breakfast or lunch in the cafeteria with their student at a designated parent table and only with their own child(ren). The playground and teacher classrooms are off limits to visitors in the morning and during recess. This is for the safety of all students.
Anyone on campus during this time who has not properly checked in through the office will be asked to report back to the office to check in. A visitor badge must be visible.
Late to School - The first bell rings at 7:33am. All children begin lining up to enter their classroom at that time. The warning bell rings at 7:39am. If your child arrives after 7:40am, he/she is considered late. You must park your car and walk your child to the office to sign them in and pick up a late pass.
Picking up Students Early - Come to the office to sign your child out. Please don’t phone ahead to have your child ready, as your ID must be verified in person. The adult picking up must be listed on the students emergency contact. Once your identification has been verified, the office will call your child’s classroom and have them come to the office to meet you. Please allow adequate time for this process. Students that are being picked up early, must be signed out prior to 2:00pm.
Sincerely,
Sabine Hopper

Litchfield Elementary School in an A+ School of Excellence
Dear Litchfield Families,
Litchfield Elementary School is a finalist for the Arizona Education Foundation A+ School of Excellence™ Award! A team of 4 judges visited our campus on March 20th and 21st. During that time they visited every classroom, interviewed staff, students, parents, and administration. We shared the Litchfield story with the judges, and brought recognition to all of the amazing things happening at our school and in our Litchfield Community. The judges provided us with a lot of positive feedback.
It is with great excited to share that we were awarded the honor of being a A+ School of Excellence™! This is the 5th time that Litchfield Elementary School has held this honor.
The A+ School of Excellence™ Program is a comprehensive school assessment program that celebrates outstanding schools and brings to light the positive stories and successes happening in public schools every day. Every Opportunity Every Day!
We will keep you posted on the date and time of our award celebration.
With LES Pride,
Principal Hopper
