Learners will engage in a variety of instructional methods (group processing, modeling, lecture, group presentations, coaching) to accomplish these learning goals.

The learner will:

• Utilize the transformational ideas and seven principles that define a Fierce Conversation in group and real-life situations.
• Identify key conversations that will support individual professional development and the development of the organization.
• Prepare and implement a team conversation. coaching conversation, a delegation conversation, and confrontation conversation.
• Develop and submit a personal communication plan.

The registration fee of $125 includes the Fierce Conversations 4-Program Toolkit and the Fierce Conversations book by Susan Scott.

This course has been approved by the Iowa Department of Education for renewal of an Iowa Evaluator Approval License.

NOTE: There is no "participant only" option for this course due to the fee for required materials.

This class is currently intended for LEA staff. PLAEA staff will have an opportunity to participate in this learning later in the school year.

This class will be held virtually from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. on these four dates:

• Sept. 14
• Sept. 27
• Oct. 18
• Oct. 25

Participants must attend all four dates.

The Instructors of Record of this class will provide participants with the option to receive feedback on conversation preparation models. Participants can also use the Fierce app where instructors will push out reflection questions each week for about six months.
