HYDROPOWER!
Producing the most electricity in the world
Is acounted for 7% of the worlds electricity and 56% of all generation.
Hydro Power is a renewable resource all because of the water cycle.
The water cycle starts with rain the rain could fall into more water or could hit the ground.
Once the water hits the ground it goes under the surface and is called ground water. The ground water evaporates it goes into clouds. Clouds take in more and more water untill it finally is to much and then it rains. repeting the cycle.
Is It Costly ?
Advantages and Disadvantages
1) The lakes water can be used for irrigation purposes.
2) Dams are designed to last many decades ans so can contribute to the generation of electricity for msny years/decades.
1) Dams are extremely expensive to build and must be built to a very high standard.
2) The flooding of large areas of land means that the natural environment is destroyed.
Breakthroughs
Rudolf Diesel created an engine where combustion comes out of a long metal cylinder.
Michael Faraday built two devices to produce what he called electromagnetic rotation.
