A Message from the Principal, Dr. Johnson:
Our Longhorns had a busy week full of learning. We continue to motivate our students to stay positive and work hard to prepare them to be successful for next year. Our students have grown so much this year and we are so proud of them. We cannot wait to see what their future holds for them. At Polly Ryon, we hold our students to a high standard and have high expectations both academically and socially. With the help of our amazing staff and #PRMSmagic, we reward our students through creative lessons and fun learning activities.
Special thanks to Mr. Cole and his family for dropping an impromptu lunch for our amazing staff. It was an unexpected and much LOVED treat. Dr. Nivens stopped by this week. He visited with our Longhorns and answered questions they had...most questions were, "How tall are you?" It was a great day!
Thanks to our awesome RCO for the delicious breakfast tacos Friday morning! Our staff enjoyed every scrumptious bite.
Please be sure to see our Upcoming Dates and Events above. On Monday, students can wear their favorite college shirt. Also, we are hosting our first ever Career Day for our students. We have over 30 community members who will be speaking to our students showcasing a variety of careers. On Tuesday, it's Twinsies Day and students can dress the same as their BFF.
We would like to give a shout out to our Kickstart students that are competing on Saturday at the Regional competition. Good Luck to you!! You can go to Facebook and Twitter to see pictures from the weekly events on campus.
Have an amazing weekend!

Last Week's Smore:
A Message from the Principal, Dr. Johnson:
Our Longhorns had a busy week of learning with a bit of #prmsmagic and March Madness activities sprinkled in as well. On Monday, we celebrated National Oreo Cookie Day during lunches with a fun PRMS oreo cookie challenge. Congratulations to Reveur and Amistad on your House win!! During art classes, students worked with a new and exciting medium this week: OREO CREAM!!!! What a fun day they had carving with toothpicks! Students and staff members played the lucky duck game and won fun prizes. Staff members also hunted for leprechauns on the loose around the school and competed for prizes. Our students and staff members work very hard every day. We push our students and have set very high expectations and goals for them. We continue to prepare our Longhorns for their secondary journey and appreciate all of our parent support along the way.
NOTE: There is no school next week. Students and staff are off for Spring Break.
Please be sure to review the Upcoming Dates and Events above. On Tuesday, March 21st students are encouraged to wear crazy socks to support World Down Syndrome Day! On Thursday, March 23rd it's picture day during lunches. Students will receive a picture form on Monday when we return from Spring Break. Please complete this form with payment or you can pay online if you would like to have your child's picture taken.
Enjoy your week!
