Mustang Monday Message

Mustang Family,

Throughout the school year we have held different olympic events each month. Throughout these events, we have been so impressed by the hard work, kindness, honesty, and responsibility shown by our Mustangs...we are so proud of them! Several classes have now earned enough points to earn their olympic shirts and several classes are extremely close! As our Mustangs receive these shirts, we are encouraging them to always remember what it means to be a Meadow Brook Mustang--we hope their shirts will help them to never forget. We truly have the best Mustangs!

With Valentines Day being this week, we often have students that like to exchange valentines. Students are allowed to bring valentines IF they bring one for each student in the class. However, special valentines are not to be exchanged at school.

The school and PTA each hold one fundraiser per year. As a school we will be holding a Reading-Round-Up Fundraiser from February 18th-March 3rd to celebrate reading and to raise funds to increase books in our leveled library (which teachers use with their reading groups) and technology programs to enhance student learning. On February 18th-February 23rd students will collect pledges for the number of minutes they will read during the week of Feb 24th-March 1st; during this week, several reading activities will be held to get the students excited about reading. Money will be collected from March 2nd-5th. See the calendar below for a list of events.

We are looking forward to another great week. Best wishes,

Principal Balli

Book Store Days

If your child has completed their passport already, HANG ONTO THEM (if your child brought theirs home)! We will have a "Book Store" day January 31st, Feb. 7th, Feb. 21st and March 6th during the lunch hour. At that time, children with a COMPLETED passport (signed off by their teacher), may turn in their passport for a book of their choice. Please continue to record weekly reading minutes even if your child has already finished their passport & received their new book. These weekly minutes will be tallied to help us reach our goal of 1 million minutes.

Another deadline for submitting physical Box Tops clips is coming up! Please send all box tops to school by Monday February 24th. (If the expiration date is March 1st, make sure to not hang onto them at home any longer! For the box tops that are expired, just throw them away.)

Remember, that you have 14 days from the day of purchase to scan your receipt to earn digital Box Tops credit. If you are not sure if you bought any items that have Box Tops -- scan your receipt anyway and it will tell you whether or not you had any earnings.

Have you ordered something & not received it?
