Our Homecoming theme this year is “Decades: Roo Past, Roo Present, Roo Pride.”
The senior Student Council members selected this theme because they are the last graduating class to have been born in the 1990’s!

Thursday, September 22, 2016
· Homecoming Parade – All are welcome to come out and see our display of Roo Pride in our community parade down Main Street. The parade will begin at NGC and travel north on Main Street. Parade kick-off time is 5:30 pm.
Friday, September 23, 2016
· Homecoming Pep Rally – All Homecoming Court members will be introduced to the student body in the morning at the pep rally. Pep Rally start time will be 8:30 am.
· Homecoming Court Election – Right after the pep rally, the student body will be voting on one senior male and one senior female as the Homecoming King and Queen for 2016.
· Homecoming Game – During half-time, after the Band and Blue Belles perform, the Homecoming Court will be introduced. The King and Queen will be crowned.
· Homecoming Dance – The dance will be held at the NGC Activity Center after the game and will last until 1:00 am. Admission is $3, or $5 per couple.

Nurse Brownlee and the HST department would like to announce the annual WHS shot clinic for students on September 22 at the high school in room J227. Please watch for documentation to come home with your student. We must have the following:
- School I.D.
- Shot clinic permission form (pick up in room J228 or Nurse Brownlee's clinic)
- proof of insurance, if you have insurance
Please note, if your son or daughter has any allergies, please let the clinic know, as they may not be able to receive the shot.

Sophomores and Juniors: The Project Opportunity Scholarship is available for WHS students with financial need who are planning to attend Weatherford College. The scholarship provides up to $5,000 for tuition, books, and supplies for two years and is made available by the Project Opportunity Foundation. Students must be sophomores or junior to apply and the deadline for juniors to turn in their application is December 1, 2016. Applications are available in the Counseling Center.
PINK OUT 2016
You are invited to join the Lady Roo volleyball program in their support of PINK OUT 2016 by ordering your shirt(s) today! All proceeds from the sale of these shirts will be donated to the Parker County Health Foundation and will be designated for mammogram services in Parker County.
Be sure to wear your shirt Friday, October 7th for the PINK OUT volleyball game at 5:30 and then head over to Roo Stadium for the PINK OUT football game at 7:30.
Shirts will be delivered by Tuesday, October 4th. Deadline to order is Thursday, September 22nd. Order Form

All-Region Jazz Band
Six Fightin' Roo Band members auditioned for the All-Region Jazz Band at Boswell High School this past weekend. Three students earned a spot in the band:
Sam Shaw, 5th chair tenor trombone
Brandon Durant, 2nd chair jazz guitar
And Xan Watson, 1st chair jazz bass guitar.
Xan qualified to audition for a spot in the All-State Jazz Band on Tuesday, September 20.
Good luck, Xan and congratulations to this year's all region jazz band members.
