Health and Safety Updates
Lunch, Breakfast and Snack
Here are some things we are doing:
- Expanding our lunchtime window to allow for greater social distancing in the cafeteria
- Looking for ways where we can provide social distancing during breakfast and snack time in the classroom
- Adhering to strict seating charts
Here are some things you can help with:
- If you plan to send a snack with your student, choose a snack that can be eaten quickly
Quarantine
If someone gets exposed to a person with COVID-19, they must quarantine. If they have no symptoms, they may return after 10 days (on day 11), and they should wear a mask and monitor themselves for symptoms for 14 days total (since we are currently under Mayor Quinton Lucas’ mask mandate, they will wear a mask anyway). An exposure, or close contact, is someone who was within three feet of an infected person for more than 15 minutes.
There are several exceptions to the quarantine requirement:
- If the individuals were both were wearing masks appropriately, the exposed person would not need to quarantine, as long as they continue to monitor for symptoms for the full 14-day time period.
- If an individual is fully vaccinated, they would not need to quarantine, as long as they monitor themself for symptoms for 14 days following the known exposure. They should wear a mask for the full 14-day time period.
- Any fully vaccinated individual who experiences symptoms consistent with COVID-19 should isolate themself from others and get clinically evaluated for COVID-19.
- The person would not need to quarantine if they have had COVID-19 within the previous three months, have recovered, and have no more COVID-19 symptoms.
What can I expect from my child's teacher?
- You should receive an email from your child's teacher by 9:00 am the morning after your child's quarantine has begun.
- This email will share the classroom plan and directions for accessing classwork through SeeSaw (K-2), or Schoology (3-5), or a packet of work if you prefer.
- Teachers will be unable to provide Zoom sessions for students learning from home due to "in person" teaching happening at the same time
A few things to keep in mind:
When in doubt, have your child read or work on math facts
Encourage students to complete just the assignments for the day
Students should look for daily emails from the classroom teacher
Give yourself and your child grace --- This is tough

Transportation
Arrival & Dismissal
Arrival
Dismissal
BUS RIDERS: Bus riders are dismissed through the front doors each afternoon. Classroom teachers walk students to the buses and help them find the appropriate bus. During the first few days, this process can take a bit longer than normal as staff members double-check that all students are on the correct bus. Then, the bus can get further delayed as the drivers take time to make sure students safely get off at the right stop.
Lana Dudzinski, Park Hill's Transportation Coordinator, will be sending a notification to parents via School Messenger in early August notifying you of bus information (bus #, bus stop location, pick-up, and drop-off times) this will be available through your Parent Portal Watch for that communication if your child will be a bus rider this year.
ADVENTURE CLUB: Students who participate in the after-school care program, Adventure Club, will be dismissed directly to the cafeteria each day. Adventure Club staff checks in each student and cross-checks with our front office to ensure that all students who are enrolled in Adventure Club are accounted for at dismissal.
CAR RIDERS: We will provide each student with a car rider sign. Having this car rider sign on display in your vehicle allows parents or family members to remain in the car in the car rider lane during evening dismissal instead of entering the building with your photo ID and signing out the student. Please see the detailed car rider plan below.
While the car rider line can be slow the first few days, once students and families learn the routine, it will speed up considerably. Thanks in advance for your patience and understanding that our main focus is on all students getting into cars safely. Parents can help by staying in your vehicle and allowing staff members to assist students into cars and teaching your child how to buckle their own seat belt.
WALKERS: Walkers will be dismissed through the side doors by the library and can meet their families near the path to the neighborhood entrance.

Box Tops!!!!
TIPS:
1-They cannot be expired.
2-The full rectangle needs to be submitted. If one gets ripped, taping the pieces together is ok.
3-They do not need to be perfectly cut as long as the dashed rectangle is still showing.
4-They do not have to be on sheets of paper, envelopes or baggies of loose clips are perfectly fine.
