It's that time again when we send you our digital monthly newsletter for Pittsford Community Church's Women Together ministry! This is a monthly email sent to you containing information of ongoing ministry opportunities, upcoming events, and other good things that we think you may enjoy.

We believe that being a part of a multi-generational community of Jesus-loving women is what we need today to walk the path of faith well and we hope that you find that here with us.

Hebrews 10:23- 25: "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

"Life can be so full that it’s easy to lose focus and feel drawn to things that have a detrimental impact on us. Some of our weaknesses even start as strengths. Then our exercise habits become addictive or we use relationships to numb our feelings or our love for others turns into doing things because we need to be needed.

Take a few moments now to read John 13:1–17. Jesus left His prominent position to wash His disciples’ feet before He commissioned them on a yet uncharted leadership path. And similarly, He left the splendor of heaven to reach down to us and meet us where we are before commissioning us onward.

We need Jesus to wash our feet.

Our weary, sweaty feet.

Our wounded, bleeding feet.

Our weak and bruised feet.

Will you let Him? Or instead, like Peter, will you push back?

Sometimes we believe that all God is interested in is what we do for Him, our positions and progress, our roles and responsibilities. Yet in His interactions with leaders in the Gospels, Jesus consistently demonstrates that He is far more interested in people’s characters than in their gifts, titles, connections, and achievements. It is still true today.

Perhaps we’re too ashamed—after all, we’re supposed to be leaders, influencers, the ones getting it right.

How can we admit that our TV binging habits have taken us to some destructive places?

How do we admit that wounds from our past relationships and professional disappointments are infected with bitterness?

How do we acknowledge that the work we do that we say is fueled by passion is fueled also by our fears and insecurities?

To share life with Jesus, to live with faith-shaped purpose, is to invite Him into even the most painful realities in our lives. It’s certainly vulnerable, especially if we’ve prided ourselves on being the kinds of leaders who keep it all together. We cannot present or perform our way out of our own brokenness, no matter how hard we try.

But Jesus doesn’t need us to keep it all together, to pretend life and loss haven’t happened to us. He’s the kind of leader who tends to His leaders—even laying down His life so that they might live.

Bakers and card makers needed for our outreach to community helpers! This month, our outreach will be going to our local police officers. Please contact Nora Kiefer (nkiefer@rochester.rr.com) if you can help by baking goodies or creating cards for our hometown workers!

Have you ever been 'spiritually loved on' or discipled by a women older than you? If so, you know how meaningful and important that is for young women. We have an incredible opportunity to partner up with the new 20's group at PCC in that very way. We have a growing list of women in their 20's who attend our church and are looking for this kind of relationship. It can be whatever you make it - as simple as monthly coffee dates or having them over for dinner with your family, maybe a care package or driving them to Target to go shopping... As long as you have meaningful conversation about life and faith, you are doing it right!

The vision of the 20's group is to help our young adults to find their place and belonging in our church body, to help them find their giftings and passions and equip them to use those things to bless God's people and the world around them. We can come alongside and help by being in intentional relationships with the women of this group!

The Monday Night Women’s Bible Study will begin a 7-week DVD Old Testament study of “Gideon” by Priscilla Shirer on Monday January 11, 2021 on Zoom. A new Tuesday morning ladies study is starting on March 9 virtually and will go through June 8.The group will do the 14 week Other Letters and Revelation (Hebrews - Revelation) study. Written by various men, these letters instructed the faithful in spiritual matters during times of heavy persecution and false teaching. Be encouraged by the joy set before us all – the glory of His return and reign. The Wednesday afternoon women's group has started Max Lucado's study: Experiencing the Heart of Jesus. It’s a 10 week, no video, study with a unique approach to learning about the heart and soul of Jesus. They meet 1:15-3:15pm on Zoom. Contact Bonnie Chamberlain at bacbac@rochester.com.
