Who is the Elementary School Counselor?
Mrs. Sarah Kellett is a certified School Counselor who provides counseling services for all students. These services help children develop socially, emotionally, and academically. Mrs. Kellett taught at Wyoming Middle School for five years and has been with Indian Hill Elementary School as a School Counselor for eleven years.

What does the School Counselor do?
Counsels individuals and groups of students
Coordinates and Collaborates with parents, teachers and staff in the Intervention Assistance Team
Coordinates school-wide health lessons: conflict management; harassment; social media safety; personal safety
Consults with outside agencies to help meet the needs of children
Coordinates standardized testing
Collaborates with staff regarding crisis management and student safety

What are Small Counseling Groups?
Small groups allow an opportunity for students to meet with peers to support each other in a similar need. All small groups are facilitated by the school counselor. All groups are voluntary.
How do I know when small groups are offered?
A permission form will be sent home in Friday folders in September for the Fall group options and in January for the Winter group options.
How often do small groups meet?
Small groups meet weekly for up to 6 weeks.
What are the small groups that are offered?
Changing Families: where students who are experiencing separation or divorce acquire coping skills.
Positive Peer Relations: where students learn how to identify and express feelings in appropriate ways.
Peaceful Living: where students learn strategies to assist in decreasing worry and anxiety.
Grief and Bereavement: where students learn how to cope with the loss of a loved one.
