FJVD Weekly Info
We Live the Word!
From the Principal's Desk
Dear FJVD Families,
Our third week of distance learning is coming to a close. I want to thank our entire school community for their efforts in making distance learning not only a possibility but in many ways a great success. We know that there are still challenges to overcome and difficulties to address, but we continue to make tremendous strides.
As a reminder, tomorrow will be a professional development day for teachers, as well as an opportunity for students to complete any missing or make-up work from our first three weeks of distance learning (as applicable). No new assignments will be provided. Keep in mind that, while students are welcome to turn in work, teachers may not be able to respond immediately to inquiries from parents/students during the professional day.
After consultation with the Diocese of Providence regarding the adoption of a wide range of distance learning platforms, we are following guidance from the Diocese and asking that each family complete this Online Technology Consent Form. You only need to complete one form per family. Please know that the school continues to take every precaution to ensure the safety of our staff and students while participating in online learning. The administration, and our Director of Technology, Mrs. Adamo, regularly monitor the latest developments in safe practices for online learning and work closely with staff to carry out the appropriate measures.
Lastly, please know that we continue to do all that we can to stay connected with each and every member of our community - including through our Morning Minute, Daily Saint Blog, community Padlet, and various live streaming events (thank you Fr. Woolley!). If you're not already following us on Facebook & Instagram, give us a follow today! Furthermore, as we approach Holy Week, we invite you to join us for the live stream of various parish events and Masses. You can find the schedule of these events below.
Thank you again for your continued support of our school community. Know of my continued prayers for you and your family during this difficult time.
God bless and Go Saints!
Sincerely,
Mr. Peloquin

Participate in the FJVD Certificate Program!
This program is a great way to reduce the cost of your tuition while supporting FJVDl!
The Process:
- The school purchases shopping cards from all of your favorite stores
- You purchase the cards from the school, paying face value and spending the same dollars you would have paid to the stores directly
- The school earns a percentage discount offered by participating stores.
For each $50.00 you spend, you get a stamp on your Tuition Discount Card. Fill the entire card and redeem it for a $75.00 check!
Cards currently available include:
Stop & Shop, Applebee's, Barnes & Noble, Dave's, Dunkin Donuts, Panera, Wal-Mart and more!
Stop by the school Monday-Friday 7:45am-8:15am, the Rectory Monday-Friday 1:45-2:15pm, or in the Parish Center after the 7:30, 9:30 and 11:30am Sunday Masses to purchase your gift cards!

Aluminum Can Tab Collection
What: Aluminum can tabs are being collected
Why: To support the Ronald McDonald House in Providence
How can you help? Save can tabs and send them in to Mr. Godin’s room.
Bottle Cap Drive
We’re excited to share that our school is part of the Coca-Cola Give program. This opens up
Father John V. Doyle School to new funding opportunities to help improve learning environments for students. The best part? Donations don’t come out of your own pocket. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply send in bottle caps or product codes from boxes of beverages and our school receives a donation.
All caps and codes should be sent to Mr. Godin. Codes will be entered on one account to gain larger and quicker donations.
Thank you!
