Suicide Prevention

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month

Suicide is the second leading cause of death for ages 10-24, with recent research from the CDC showing a significant increase in recent years. EMS ISD is dedicated to being a competent school community in suicide prevention. As a district, we train our staff to identify students who may be at risk for suicide, refer students to counselors, and work with parents to provide support for students.

This site provides additional information and resources for parents. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your child's school counselor.
