Full Year Gayman Calendar
Like so many parents we are constantly on the run juggling many schedules. In the Gazette we provide a "snapshot" of important upcoming dates. To assist your family with making long range plans please view the School Calendar available on the Gayman home page or simply click here.
Gayman's Wellness Initiative
Here at Gayman we teach the whole child. One of the ways we are helping children grow is to educate them about healthy eating and activity. Each Wednesday students from a different class make an announcement to the school about what they do to stay healthy. The topics range from healthy eating, to dental health and physical activity - whatever that class feels is important to stay healthy!
In addition, Gayman has instituted a movement of the month. These movements are shared schoolwide and teachers are encouraged to have students do these movement breaks no less than one time a week to get the students up and moving in the classrooms.
In some of the pictures you will see students practicing their spelling words by tracing their words in the air with their feet. This is just one way we are encouraging the students to be active in their academics!!
Start Running With iRun4Life!!
This year Gayman is offering a new run club called IRun4Life. IRun4Life promotes fitness and healthy lifestyles with our children. Key features include running, good deeds, a goal race and running with parents. IRun4Life is open to grades 1st through 6th. For details on IRun4Life click here.
If you would like to register your child to participate in the program click here.

Central Bucks Art Scholarship Fund

Kids Care Club Helping Sick Children and Families
This month the Kids Care club is focusing on sick children. The Club will work with two organizations - Kelly Anne Dolan Memorial Fund which provides support to families struggling with the serious childhood illnesses and St. Christopher's Children's Hospital.
Gayman held a "hat day" fundraiser today for the Dolan Memorial Fund - we collected over $200 for this worthwhile cause!! A large loose change collection bottle has been placed outside the office for any loose coins that Gayman families or students may wish to contribute until March 27th.
In support of St. Christopher's Children's Hospital the Kids Care Club is collecting new rattles for babies, new Matchbox cars and new or used movie DVD's. A donation box will be outside the office from March 10th - March 21st.
To sign-up for the next Kids Care Club meeting or for additional information on these two important organizations please click here.
March Boomerang Award
This year, Gayman will continue to accept nominations for the Boomerang Award, which is our way of honoring students who best demonstrate their own developmental assets. What are Developmental Assets? Students possessing a combination of “40 Assets” are typically most successful in school and in life. These assets have the power to influence choices young people make and help them become caring, responsible adults. For a complete listing of the 40 Developmental Assets visit: www. Search-institute.org.
March: #38 Self-Esteem. Young person demonstrates a confidence that promotes positive behaviors and relationships. He/she is proud to be the person that they are, and they serve as a role model to others because of their healthy self-confidence.

Tom Angleberger, New York Times best-selling author of the Origami Yoda Series, will be coming to Gayman on Tuesday March 25th to meet with the 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. Quirky, humorous and original are three adjectives that aptly describe both Mr. Angleberger and his entertaining books. Star Wars fans will especially love his funny origami puppets, modeled on popular Star Wars characters.
