Tchaikovsky early life

When Tchaikovsky was 10 years old, he was sent to preparatory school. The name of the school was called School of Jurisprudence in St. Petersburg. His mom stayed with him there to help him get settled. Later, he got a reward for getting good marks on the school exams. His mom decided to take him to a city's famous Theatre to see Glinka's opera "A Life for the Tsar". However, Tchaikovsky was a sensitive and soft hearted child.

Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake

Swan Lake was premiered in 1877. Unfortunately, it did not get off a good start. The dancers complained that some of the score was danceable, and the production overall was of poor quality. The interest in the ballet was not revived until after Tchaikovsky's death.

Tchaikovsky's other known music

Beethoven did not just compose Swan Lake, but he composed other music too. He composed Romeo and Juliet, which was premiered in 1869. He also composed the Piano Concerto No. 1, which who was premiered by a friend of Tchaikovsky, and last but not least, he composed a song which was associated with the Christmas Season called Nutcracker Suite.

In December of 1876, a lady named Madame Nadezhda von Meck entered his life. She was a wealthy widow, who loved music and loved Tchaikovsky's work. This made Tchaikovsky dedicate his music called the Fourth Symphony in F minor to her
