About This Disease:
Atherosclerosis is a build up of fats in arteries, this slows and even stops the circulation of blood over time. This chronic disease can last for years without being detected. Some but not all people have symptoms such as: pain in chest or legs after exercise, little to no breath, slow wound healing, heart attack, and stroke.
Prevention and Treatment:
Early diagnosis is key, this disease is very common and treatable. Some medication you could use include: diabetes medication, blood thinner, and aspirin. Lifestyle changes such as weightless and daily exercise can prevent Arteriosclerosis.
Statistics:
1) Atherosclerosis is very common in the USA and there are 3 million diagnosed cases each year
2) Men are at a higher risk for the disease
3) The age range most effected by the disease is 75 - older
4) 31.5 % of deaths in the USA each year are caused by CVD
