Doyle Day
We ask that students wear their best clothing out of respect for our guests and the occasion. We also ask that you discuss the appropriate behavior for such an occasion at home. Due to the occupancy limitation in our auditorium, we will be unable to invite parents to attend, but please look for an account of the program in the Eagle Flyer. We are proud of our school heritage and look forward to celebrating with our students on Thursday.
Please be also advised that the office will be closed between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM. If you need to pick up your child during that time, please let the teacher know in advance and we will make arrangements.
13 Reasons Why
Dear Families,
You may be aware of the popular Netflix original series, 13 Reasons Why, that many of our young people have watched since its release on March 31st. The fictional series revolves around 17-year old Hannah Baker, who takes her own life and leaves behind audio recordings for 13 people who she says in some way were part of why she killed herself.
The content includes mature, graphic, and sensitive topics such as suicide, bullying, rape, and drunk driving. This series may not be appropriate for most of our elementary children. Because of the complex issues, mental health professionals have encouraged parents and guardians to discuss the series with their children should parents choose to allow their children to view this series.
We have information about the series, discussion points, warning signs of suicide, and links to mental health resources on our Student Services website.
As always, please know our counselors and school professionals are here for support. Susan

New Immunization Requirements
As of August 2017, a student must have all immunizations completed within the first 5 days of school.
If the student is in the middle of a series and it is too soon for the next dose, parents must provide the school nurse with a plan for immunizations (signed by a health care provider) within the first 5 days. If the student has incomplete immunizations and no medical plan, the student will be excluded from school.
You may check your child’s school immunization record by logging onto the parent portal through the district website at www.cbsd.org or by consulting with your child’s physician.
CB Cares
CB Cares: May Boomerang Award
Young person has a healthy sense of personal power. He/she believes they can effect change and make a difference in their school and/or community. They believe they have some control over things that happen in their world, that things just don't happen to them.

April Asset #25: Reading for Pleasure
When Evan gets engrossed with a book, he pays attention to little else. He even missed his bus once because he was so into his book! When we go out to dinner or on a trip, Evan always brings his books. It can be challenging to get him to put it down.
When the summer comes, we never have a problem getting Evan to read. He thoroughly enjoys it and loves to share his reading experiences with friends and family.

From the Community
Bike Advisory Committee
Doylestown Borough Bike Advisory Committee is hosting a special event on Tuesday, May 9th from 5:00-7:00pm at Chapman Park.
Lose the Training Wheels and Learn to Ride! This is an opportunity for your child to shed their training wheels and learn to ride their bicycle with the help of volunteers including amateur and pro cyclists. Professional bike mechanics will be on-hand to evaluate the safety of your child's bicycle and your child's bicycle helmet. In previous years we've had a great deal of success in helping a high percentage of children who've participated successfully transition to riding on two wheels.
