Fifth Grade News
Welcome to the fifth grade cafe!
Congratulations to our TWO teams that are advancing to the Goodrich B.O.B!
This week in writing we worked on analyzing characters within a text and writing a literary analysis of the character. This is what the students will be asked to do for their assessment next week.
In reading, we started up our non-fiction unit. In the beginning of this unit we will be focusing on summarizing.
In math this week, we took the pre-assessment for multiplying and dividing partial numbers.
A Peek Into Next Week
Writing: Next week we will wrap up our unit on literary essays and complete the writing assessment.
Reading: We will continue with nonfiction and review summarizing.
Math: In math next week, we will begin our unit on multiplying and dividing partial numbers. We will look at ways to represent multiplication of fractions.
We are asking our fifth graders to keep any fidget spinners at home. They have become a distraction to the learning environment. If your child is in need of a fidget to help with concentration, please contact us and we will find an alternative to the spinner.
Thank you so much for all of the sweet gestures throughout Teacher Appreciation Week. We are so lucky to be a part of such a wonderful community! :)
