What is a volcano?
A volano is a mountain or hill, typically conical, having a crater or vent through which lava, rock fragements, hot vapor, and gas are being or have been erupted from the Earth's crust.
How is a volcano negative to the environment?
During a volcano eruption plants are destroyed over a wide area. Livestock and many mammals are killed by lave flows. Many feilds, trees, and plants may get killed.
How is a volcano negative to people?
Many people can die from the hot ash or the lava flows. Houses, buildings, and feilds can get covered with ash and destroyed. If ash falls it makes it nearly immposible to breath.
How may a volcano be beneficial or positive?
A positive effect a volcano has to the environment is very rich soil, once the lava cools down the plants will grow huge.
Mount St. Helens
Mount St. Helens was on May 18, 1980, this eruption happened in Washington. When the volcano erupted there was an estimation of 11,000 hares, 6,000 deer, 5,200 elk, 1,400 coyotes, 300 bobcats, 200 black bears, and 15 mountain lions dead.The eruption killde 57 people. The people who lived near the volcano suffered from traumatic stress syndrome, deppression, and troubled sleep.
