Delivery of Services
The HAL teachers will continue to rotate through the schools on the eight day schedule. High-ability learner services will be provided on two days of the eight day schedule. The time frame of 75 minute sessions will remain unchanged.
As teachers of high-ability students we are always looking for best practices for our student population. Knowing that students with gifted tendencies enjoy the company of like minded peers which are not always age mates, we are looking for opportunities this year to cross grade and differentiate the curriculum to try and match interest areas. We also hope to delve into the social emotional needs of the high-ability students by introducing topics that specifically target areas of concern for gifted populations.
Our goal is to provide the best additional opportunities for each child to achieve at his/her highest potential.
My teaching schedule is as follows:
Fort Crook Days 1 and 5
Two Springs Days 2 and 6
Leonard Lawrence Days 3 and 7
Bertha Barber a.m. Days 4 and 8
Avery p.m. Days 4 and 8
Beginning of the Year Content
The fifth and sixth grade students will begin the year understanding and clarifying goals. They will be doing some self evaluation and learning some apps to utilize in putting their thoughts and ideas into a creative product
