The Nest News

A peek at our week in kindergarten!

Annabelle Harty

This week, we were able to learn a little bit more about Annabelle! Here are some of her favorite things!

Color: Pink

Food: Spaghetti

TV Show: Littlest Pet Shop

Movie: Frozen

Animal: Flamingo

We also learned that Annabelle plays soccer and has a baby brother.

Our Week of Learning

This week, we learned all about the letters E, F, G, H, and I. We also got to practice rhyming with the song Down By the Bay. We even made our own silly rhymes to fit in the song! Here's a closer look at what's to come this week:

Reading

We will continue to build on our early reading skills by learning about the initial or beginning sound of words. Students will have practice sounding out and sorting words and pictures based on the first sound. We will also learn about the importance of capital letters! We will begin to write our names with a capital letter only at the beginning. Help reinforce this skill at home!

Math

In math, we will continue to build our number sense and place value knowledge with our daily calendar time. We will continue to explore shapes, counting, and patterns this week.

Science & Social Studies

This past week, we have observed and compared the day time and night time sky. This week, we will take a closer look at how the sun moves across the sky. We will also observe the differences between the morning, noon, and evening sky.
