General Information on Wind
The wind is the air in motion. Winds are caused by differences in air pressure.
Information on Local WInds
Local Winds are winds that are occur in small areas and can blow in any direction. Local winds are created by the uneven heating of Earth's surface. Sea Breezes blow from the sea. Sea Breezes are when the land warms up faster than the water so the cooler air over the water goes beneath the warmer air. Land Breezes blow from the land. Land Breezes are when the land becomes more cooler than the water so the cooler air goes beneath the warmer air over the water.
Information on Global WInds
Global winds are winds that occur in large areas. Global winds are created by the uneven heating of Earth's Surface. As the warmer air rises up at the equator the colder air from the poles moves towards the equator taking the warmer airs place. This produces Pressure Belts. What's happening with the warm air and cold air is just one big Convection Current. Horse Latitudes are winds that occur on 30 degrees and the winds aren't powerful there so people would throw their horses out of the ship because of the weak winds.
Trade Winds are winds that blow almost to the equator. Prevailing Westerlies are winds that blow between 30 degrees latitude and 60 degrees latitude and blow from west to east, carrying moist air. Polar Easterlies are winds that blow from the poles to 60 degrees latitude. It forms when the cold air sinks moving from the poles, which creates cold temperatures.
