Sunstone

The Sunstone or Aventurine Feldspar is found in India, Norway, Russia, Madagascar, and even in the US in the state of Oregon which the their state gemstone is the Sunstone. The Micracline chemical formula is KAISi3O8 and Oligoclase chemical formula is (Na,Ca)Al1-2 Si3-2O8. The colors come in Red, Orange, Brown, and Pink and the stone is Transparent. The opaque stone is made into bracelets and necklaces and the transparent stones are made into rings, bracelets, and earrings. The Sunstone has NOT been treated or enhanced. Below is an image of a lovely polished Sunstone. These stones are very rare in the US.
